Concert and end of year

This Saturday  I'm playing the drums in the end of year concert for manawatu musician makers.Im playing count on me by bruno mars. Yesterday was my first rehersal and I have another one tomorrow.

Its only seven and half days until school ends. For our last days at c.s.n.s  are having a disco Im going to wear a dress like what they wear in grease have my hair teased wear white socks with black flats.The next day we have poraki with is were everyone says good bye to the year sixes and they give out certificates and the year sixes perform a dance.Then were will have GRi11 fun day so our last day is really fun.

At the moment Im learning kryptonian which is the language on krypton.Krypton is the planet superman is from.

Halloween train

On Monday I went to the halloween train with my friend emma.It was really fun but it wasn't scary.

Emma's friend Alice came as well and said hi to everyone and asked for hi fives but she didn't get any.There was zombies,witches,a girl in a cage hanging right above,clowns and there was a gosht that was selling ice cream sandwiches.

It was so fun Im going again tonight with my sister and mum. 

Balloon powered car

To start term 4 we had two challenges we had to try and complete.We got in to groups of four and we got handed a piece of paper it said balloon powered car Materials:1 piece of foam, four skewers, four straws, 50cm of tape, cardboard, scissors and a balloon.With the materials we got we had to figure out how to make it.We got time to make our cars then it was race time.We raced two cars at a time.My groups car won the round.Final race all the cars that won the first round had to race all together "Ready set go"Mr R said.My groups car the Fish came first.

Holiday's

In the holiday's my dad broke his hand in three places. He broke his Metacarpals in the joint. He broke it by moving the trampoline and a piece of wood and a cinder block fell on his hand. He had to have double k wire.  

    

I went to the movies and saw Pan. When we got back jasper dads cat was attacking a tree frog so we put it in a bucket and took it to the pit.

I went to play mini golf mum won and me and my sister Samara tied 76. Samara got a whole in one on one of the hardest holes.

I did a lot of art like making clay models, painting and drawing.  I made a lot things from my favourite movie Strange Magic. 

The Mind Lab

Yesterday GRi11 went to The Mind Lab.

There was so much fun stuff to do.

We had to make Scribblebots:

We had to make them out of a plastic cup,felts,rubber bands,a battery pack,a motor and type.We had to put them on a large pice of paper to see if they worked.

Tomorrow GRi11 is going on a trip to Mind Lab. At Mind Lab there is Robotics,Science,3D printing and a lot of other stuff. Mind Lab is in wellington.

This term we have been learning about businesses and we had to get in groups so we know how it feels to be in a business. Guide To Making A Computer Monitor Cat Bed.

This procedure will help you to transform your old computer monitor into a home for your cuddly cat.

Materials you will need:

• An old computer monitor shell (with screen and wires removed)
• 1- 2  Cushions
• A selection of Acrylic Paints
• A Pencil
• Old newspapers
• Paintbrushes
• A Cat or a small dog/puppy/Kitten

Method:

Step 1: Use an old computer monitor that has no screen or wires. (It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t look too good cause we’re painting it.)

Step 2: Position your computer monitor on the newspaper to prepare for painting.

Step 3: Paint the computer monitor with the base colour.

Step 4: Allow the paint to dry.

Step 5: Draw your design/pictures on the computer monitor.

Step 6: Use the paint to colour your designs.

Step 7 : Put the newspaper in the old computer monitor.

Step 8: Place the cushion/cushions inside the computer monitor.

Step 9: Place the cat bed close to where your cat likes sleeping.  For example beside the couch or bed, inside or outside.

Good luck with making your cat bed. I hope you enjoyed making it. Don’t be afraid to get creative with your paintings and design.

My Highlight of the term

My highlight of the year is gold for gold programme because I got to express myself through my passion Art.My programme I went to was art because in the future I want to be an artist.

Solar system

Saturn

Saturn is a yellowish brown color and is one of the four gas giants,It is mostly made of hydrogen so there is no solid ground at all.Saturn is the second biggest planet in the solar system.

Saturn was formed like all of the other planets by solar nebula.The solar nebula was cloud,cold gas and dust which somehow got disturbed perhaps by colliding with another cloud or the shock waves from supernova.

Saturn is a really cold planet it’s normal temperature is minus 178 degrees celsius.

Saturns rings were formed by Comets,Asteroids and even other moons colliding around saturn a exploded because of saturn’s strong gravity.They also have chunks of ice.

Saturn was named after the a roman god called saturnus.

There has never been life on saturn because it is made of mostly hydrogen so if you try to stand on saturn you go into the middle and get crushed in the middle of saturn.But Titan saturn’s biggest moon has lakes and ice volcanoes.

Saturn has around 62 moons and some are still to be discovered.

Saturn distance from the sun is 1,433,000,000km.

Saturn’s length of day is 10 hours and 39 minutes.

Winds race around the atmosphere of saturn at 800 km per hour.

Saturn has a very strong magnetic field which traps energy particles which causes a high level of radiation.

Saturn goes around the sun extremely slowly, a year on saturn is twenty nine years on earth.

Saturn's largest moons are Titan and Rhea.

Saturn is a large planet that has sixty two moons and rings made of ice,comets,asteroids and other moons.Saturn has strong winds and a magnetic force that traps energy particles which causes it to have a strong radiation.

While I was floating to the bottom I saw dolphins,fish,sharks and a whole bunch of other underwater animals.Suddenly I quickly fell and landed in a little cave the water had disappeared. In the corner of my eye I saw it………THE MAGICAL AMULET(>_<).

As I was walking towards the amulet suddenly obstacles started appearing throughout the cave.

First I had to jump over incredibly high walls.I made it to the next obstacle.I had to go across the waters ruled by the king of the waters…………....SHARKS.Thankfully I had to swing on vines.”YES”I made it across now onto the third obstacles.I have to dodge balls of raspberry jelly to make it to the last obstacle but instead of dodging them I decided to try get it in my mouth.I’m so close now I only have to complete this lazer maze.

Thats it, its just an inch away from my hand so I slowly reached out and grabbed it.Suddenly the cave started crumbling down on me.I had to run to the start as quick as I could but that meant I had to go through the obstacles again.I made it out just in time.I took the amulet home and the magic started working.ZOOM I was in a parallel universe.

Pacific Islands

There is thousands of islands in the middle of the pacific ocean these are called the pacific islands.

The pacific islands are found all over the pacific ocean for example hawaii and vanuatu are in the pacific oceans so they are pacific islands.

the pacific islands are made of pieces of rock.they were formed by a chain of volcanic eruptions on some islands and the pieces of rock created the islands.

The pacific islands get lots of cyclones because they are very small and more exposed to the pacific ocean.

What I love

I like skating because its fun and I can go to leisure plix and do basketball on skates and I can learn new tricks and when I get better I might be able to do competitions.Skating is something I do when I want to go outside and have fun and I can do it as much as i want.

Anzac soldier

DATE: 16/9/1918

Dear Family,

I have survived the war so far and i'm coming home tomorrow. I had to carry my best friend bob who had been shot in the leg and unfortunately had lost a lot of blood and did not survive.I have to go and fight in about ten minutes.I made some new friend but unfortunately they didn't survive the war.I need to go out now hopefully I see you tomorrow.I miss you alot.

You got taught differently when you were at school but how we work in GRi11 is a cool experience for us to have.

In GRi11 I actually want to come to school because Miss Gordon and Mr Robertson make learning fun.

I like that I can choose to sit at a desk or on the floor and in much more places around the class.

You don’t think we can manage our own learning and still learn a lot well with managing our own learning I have learnt a lot this year already

Aren’t we allowed to have fun at school and collaborate with each other to have fun while working.

Everyone always is on task with what ever there doing.

I think we should keep GRi11 how it because it makes learning fun.
